What kind of community do we want Hot Water Beach to be in 10, 20, 30 years' time?

The Hot Water Beach Ratepayers Association wants to build a clear vision for Hot Water Beach that reflects the values, aspirations, and practical needs of all residents, property owners and businesses that make up our community.

Hot Water Beach has a strong history from Ngāti Hei's settlement of Te Puia Pā and connection with this coastline, to The Pye family transformation into productive farmland and the first subdivision shaping the foundations of the community we know today.

Building on these solid foundations is our opportunity to shape the future of Hot Water Beach and it's evolution for future generations of Ngāti Hei, local residents, businesses and visitors.

The conversation of what our future looks like will evolve over-time, but starting and continuing through August 2026 we're collecting your views to inform the Hot Water Beach vision.

What visitor amenities are needed?

Where should any future growth occur, and just as importantly, where shouldn't it?

What improvements are needed to roads, footpaths, parking, and pedestrian connections?

How can we improve essential infrastructure such as water, wastewater, and stormwater services?

What facilities, gathering spaces, and amenities will help strengthen community connections?

What should our reserves and public spaces look like in the future?

How do we protect the character, environment, and lifestyle that make Hot Water Beach such a special place?

Every response will help build a strong community driven vision that represents our collective aspirations of tommorows Hot Water Beach community.

Our vision will influence the decisions being made by current and future councils, agencies, and infrastructure providers.
