Dotterel Protection

Hot Water Beach is home to NZ Dotterels that take up residence on the Main Beach between March and September every year to nest. If your interested in learning more or minding, please get in touch with DOC.

Kiwi Protection

Whenuakite Kiwi Care group works across 4000 ha of private and conservation land to care for kiwi and their habitat between Tairua and Hot Water Beach. If you would like to get involed, you can email Diane Hinds;  hinds.diane@gmail.com.
