Our Community Plan: A vision for Hot Water Beach through the next 10, 20 and 30 years.
In August 2026, the Hot Water Beach Ratepayers Association engaged with the community to develop a shared vision for what Hot Water Beach. While we are a small coastal community, we welcome a significant number of visitors each year who come to enjoy our iconic beach, reserves, walking tracks, and natural environment.
Feedback from the community survey highlighted a range of priorities and opportunities to improve our public spaces and facilities for residents and the experience of aroud 700,000 visitors annually. Our Community Plan identifies community initiatives and projects that would enhance safety, accessibility, recreation, and environmental outcomes, helping to ensure Hot Water Beach remains a vibrant and sustainable destination for future generations.

Mercury Bay South Community Plan - Sets out important issues for communities with a 10-year hoizon. This plan was adopted in 2020.

Spatial Plan - A big-picture plan for the Coromandel Peninsula that will outline what it should look like in 30+ years.
